Is this diffraction?

Posting here again, out of curiosity/ making sure it's okay. I've got two questions.
I've always had astigmatism but it wasn't until getting health anxiety did I truly notice it, anyway I've noticed the weirdest thing, on my television when looking at white text, when I shift my gaze fast the white splits into red/yellow/blue in order, and with the ghosting it's generally not noticeable although if I ever so slightly squint my eyes so I'm looking through my eye lashes (I know it's lashes because if I move them it disappears?), the white text - at a good angle 'splits' into red/yellow/blue like a traffic light drink (very faint), but I notice it out of hyper-awareness. Upon moving lashes by pulling eyelid it all dissipates. I know televisions are made of LED's and upon moving gaze fast the light can be seen in its original state (seperated colours), but still curious. The second question is my OPTOMETRIST said my eyes don't ''need'' glasses yet, but I'd like to know - is it harmful to just not get glasses and live with astigmatism?

I'm sure there is some sort of question in the first part of your posting but I can't find it. The second is no in visual adults say over 10 years of age not wearing glasses to correct mypopia, hyperopia or astigmatism will not hurt the eye. In children less than 10 it's possible if the amounts were moderate or large or unequal that it could lead to subnormal vision (amblyopia)

Thankyou for answering the second part.

Yes I worded it terribly, what I meant was just when I squint I can create ghost images like everyone can, but I noticed looking at white images on the television, at a angle squinting my eyelashes made the white ghost into faint colors (red/yellow/blue). I realize it's more of a science question now and is put in the wrong section!
You are creating 'pinhole" refraction which breaks light into prismatic colors  Roy G Biv   red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet   from shortest to longest wavelength.
