Lasik Question

I am 36 and scheduled to be evaluated for lasik and hopefully the week after have lasik surgery . Currently,  wear in my left eye: -2.50 BC= 8.4, Diameter 14.0.

Right eye = -2.75 (torric) BC 8.6, Diameter 14.5

The doctor I am going to uses the VISX Star S-4 excimer laser. He also uses the VISX CustomVue guide. Are these the most recent technology?

I currently see some halos at night. Will lasik make this worse? I also sometimes wake up with extremely dry eyes.

I appreciate your help!

There are all degrees of dry eyes some preclude lasik while less severe forms do not. I suggest you discuss this with your surgeon.

Does this mean that if I have extreme dry eyes, I can't have Lasik surgery?

Yes those are state of the art equipment. The lasik could make the halos better or worse. Dry eyes is a relative contraindication to having LASIK and it could make it worse. Be sure the surgeon knows about the dryness and consider getting a second opinion.
