Lasik and optic neuritis

Anyone else diagnose with optic neuritis after Lasik surgery? I lost permanent vision in my right eye a few weeks after having the PRK Lasik procedure done! I was tested for other diseases such as MS but nothing was found!  I was told it was just coincidental. Any thoughts anyone?

It has been reported and they are easy to pull up with any search engine.  Like commercial airline crashes in USA they are very rare and not a reason for someone to avoid LASIK.   Often their are underlying risk factors for cardiovascular disease such as smoking, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol

Thank you for response and that diagnosis was the second opinion from a neuro ophthalmologist . And I keep reading other reports where similar occurrences have happened. Are they all coincidental? Has this been researched? my ophthalmologist  now seems to think it's related .

I would suggest you get a second opinion from a neuro-ophthalmologist but an association of optic neuritis with lasik is not something that has been reported as causative and the association is likely coincidental.
