Little bump on waterline

Hi
Does anyone have any idea what this little bump can be, that I have on my waterline? Here is a picture so you know what I'm referring to:
I get it on both my eyes once in a while; it comes and it disappears after a few days. I poked one once, because it was bothering me. Not hurting, just getting in the way.
I tried to see a doctor, but by the time I got an appointment, it was gone. Nothing to see. And getting an appointment is taking months. That's why I'm asking here, to see if anyone has experienced something similar.
Thanks!

Yep I had something similar and used an Occusoft pad on it at nighttime, and it was cleared up the next day. Occusoft is great for that.

It’s just like a pimple on your eyelid. You can pop it but- be careful.

Much better plan. Use Ocusoft lid wipes or lid scrub to clean and remove it.

The product I used was the OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus, Pre-Moistened Pads, 30 in a box.
You can also get them on amazon as well as at some stores.

I believe I went my entire life without ever having a stye (or at least anything I knew to be a stye), and then earlier this Spring I developed two of them, one following the other in the opposite eye. Like NightHawkGuy posted, I used OCuSOFT pads on them and those were very effective in an of themselves. I was at my PCP for an unreleated office visit in mid-March and she prescribed a Ciproflaxin ointment that I also used on the first stye to develop, since it was proving more stubborn to resolve itself. Very effective, and I used very little of the ointment which was a good thing since a tiny tube of it ran $63 after insurance, LOL.

This of them like a whitehead on the skin. These can come up "anytime".

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!

Do you also know why these appear? I never had anything similar before. It started like 6 months ago.

That is a tiny oil plug in the meibomian oil gland on your eyelid. each eyelid has about 40 of these. Don't stick it with a needle.  If you live in USA you can go to any major drug store and get Ocusoft (original, plus or platinum (best) Foam Eyelid clearner and Theratears sterilid lid wipes and use them to remove the oil from this gland and use them regular to prevent build up in further (which can also cause styes and chalazia). Did I say don't go after it with a needle? Yes I see I did.

Asking a hypothetical question what if you do pop it then what would happen?
It might get infected which could lead to orbital cellulitis and a week stay in the hospital with IV antibiotics. If its a chalazion it would not come out with just sticking it with a needle.
Dr. Hagan, thank you for the warning about not popping it. I used Ocusoft foam cleanser. Also, they didn't have Theratears sterilid lid wipes at the store so I got Theratears Sterilid Antimicrobial eyelid cleanser (spray bottle) and the bump on my waterline went away after 3 days. So grateful for the information. Can I use both as daily eyelid cleansing regimen? Asking because I have milia bumps on my eyelids and under eyes and wonder if they can help get rid of the milia bumps and prevent future ones.
Yes, okay for daily use.  Much like shampoo, skin soap and moisturizer.  All those products are over the counter and can be ordered on internet.
