Misdiagnosed?

Three nights ago before bed my right eye felt as if something was in it. It became slightly red in the corning, itchy, and became posing light yellowish discharge. The next morning I woke up & it was still slightly red & I have crust only in the corner of my eye. I immediately went to Med Express. They stated I had "mild pink eye" & I received Polymyxin B Sulfate/Trimethoprim Sulfate. The few times I used them during the day, my eye would get very itchy. A couple hours after being used wasn't as red or itchy. But whenever instilled they would become red & itchy again. I got a new prescription sent to my pharmacy (i haven't used them yet) & have gone a whole day without using any drops & my eye hasn't been red but itchy every here & there. Should I still use the new drops as instructed? I'm nervous about using them in case I was misdiagnosed & don't want to cause any other problems.

I'm finally getting over it but have had a little virus that I caught from work, for a little over a week, could that have just been the cause of my eye bothering me?

Since this type of question requires looking at the eye cannot really answer it. You will need to talk to “doc in a box’ or see an ophthalmologist or optometrist
