My retina has detached twice since January. I’ve had two surgeries to fix.

Second surgery I had retina, cataract and macular hole repair.  Surgeon used gas again.  As soon as the gas bubble goes away, my retina detaches.  I’m assuming oil will be used for my third surgery.  Can the oil be left in permanently? I’m extremely fearful of the retina detaching again.

In most all instances the retina surgeons remove the oil in no longer than 1 year after insertion.
