Myopia/Nystagmus/Astogmatism/Ptosis what can i do?

Hello!

My name is Ivan I have Congenital Nystagmus, and Ptosis. I had surgery for Nystagmus back in 2003, and imrpoved a little bit the situation,

I'm just worried becuase i had an appointment today and the doctor told me that there's nothing i can do to improve my vison, e tolfd me that with Lasik the only thing i could get was having hte same quality of vision that i have now but without the glases. But the i could get glasses to imrpove the vision after surgery?

He also told me that because i have a dropy eye lid [ptosis], my sight didn't developed when i was a child and there's nothing i can do to change it.

I got so sad, beacause i was going to University this year Industrial Engenieering Course, and he telling me these thing, made me feel really bad.

My prescription is

R.E Sphere -12.00 Astigmatism -1.25 Axis 160
L.E Sphere -12.00 Astigmatism -1.75 Axis 40

With this prescription, and knowing that i have nystagmus, and ptosis on my right eye, what can i do to imrpove my vision?

Another question i have is: Contact lenses create the same eye sight improvement as lasik?, or lasik gives better results?

Because i'm would like to know what can i do before going to university as sight is very important while studying.

Bets Regards

Thank you

There is a good chance LASIK would improve vision due to optical changes.  This would be similar to vision with a contact lens.

ICL would be a better choice for you high prescription.

I would also like to know, if i get contact lenses, will they make any difference than the glasses? , wich ones should i get for example i have 20/50 vison, is there any chance i could get a better vision, enough for driving? or reading from the board in school, at a bigger distance?

best regards
