For Dr. K. I didn't understand your reply...

Hello Doctor...I'm not sure how you see the questions asked, but because I am seeing my doctor tomorrow afternoon, I don't want my question to get lost.  Hope I'm not being a pest.

I asked you:   In your opinion, if I had the aspheric monofocal IOL lens installed, would I have had as good a result as I have now with the Crystalens?  I have an appointment with my surgeon and this info would be very helpful when I speak to her.

You replied:
The answer is yes, perhaps.  But you're going into the past.  You need to look forward.

I replied back:  Sorry, Doctor, but not sure what you mean.  I need to look forward in what way?  Are you suggesting I stay with the Crystalens and try to get my money back?  Or try the Crystalens HD if offered?  Or are you suggesting I accept the Crystalens as is and just get a script for reading glasses?  Or are you suggesting something else?  Sorry for being so dense. ;-)

Thank you, Dr. K, for taking the time to help me.  I really appreciate it.
Rita

Thank you, Doctor.  I had an appointment this past Thursday with my surgeon and a tech from Crystalens.  My surgeon was very surprised that I was having such a problem with my near vision.  It seems I'm the only one who has a complaint in the four months since she began using the lenses.  The Crystalens tech asked for a month to research if the meds I'm on for Depression/Panic Disorder may be the cause of the problem.  I personally don't believe that to be true.  My husband, who was with me, read the reading chart lower than I could and with more clarity. She said that was a fluke. He had the regular monovision lens done in March.

I "heard" what you had to say about changing to the HD Lens.  Thank you for your imput.  Thank you also for letting me know I am right in standing up for myself in this situation.  I really appreciate it.

First - I cannot say what you might see with a different lens.  I really don't know all your numbers right now so I have no data to go with.  I'm not even sure that where you stand.  In general, it sounds like you've got less near vision than you bargained for.  It's all a matter of properly creating your expectation.  I think changing out for a HD lens is an absolutely terrible idea.  It will not help.  Basically the same lens with minor modifications.  You are what you are.  You're only basis for a complaint is that the surgeon did not deliver what you felt you paid for.  I understand that and it's a very valid point.  Talk to your surgeon about what to do about that.  Don't be afraid to make yourself heard in person and in writing.  Your have every right in this situation.
