Only you can make that decision after thorough discussion with your child's eye surgeons. You can always get a second opinion. And FYI it's "aphakic" glaucoma. That means without the natural lens. Phakic means with the natural lens.

Yes it is a major operation. The blood does not always go away by itself and can cause problems like glaucoma or cornea staining, no gas is not usually injected into the eye unless the retina is detached or there is a macular hole.
