Temporary blindness after waking up

Hello,
This morning after I suddenly jolted awake at about 4AM, I found that I could not see anything out of either of my eyes. It was painless, and seemed like a dark gray covering was over my eyes. After about 5 seconds, the gray faded and my vision returned.
I have bad vision, very nearsighted in both of my eyes, and have astigmatism. I also have recently started taking an SSRI, if that complicates anything. Other than that, I have no previous medical conditions, and am fairly healthy.  I wanted to know this should be checked immediately or not.

My husband experienced that a while ago, and went to the ophthalmologists
, they check and found his eyes to be ok, but his blood pressure was very low, which has caused the problem with his vision.
