Positive and Negative Dysphotopsia

I had cataract surgery last December 2008 on my left eye (tecnis lense) and right from the start I had a flickering or fluttering coming mostly from the left side of my vision.  I also have a pulsing or shaking of my vision as I move my eye (when I read or scan for items at the grocery store).  My primary surgeon did not know what this might be but a second opinion doctor thinks I may have both positive and negative dysphotopsia.  He advised a second surgery to install a second lense to "piggy back" (for lack of a better term) the first lense.  I just wanted to see if anyone has had similiar conditions and what they have done to correct it.

I don't think there are any published studies on that subject but I don't think it would help.

I know this sort of defeats the purpose of IOL correction, but would a contact lens in the affected eye, diminish or eliminate the reflection issue.

Thats a resonably big deal and not guarenteed to cure positive/negative dysphotopsia. I would get a third even fourth opinion before pulling the trigger on apiggy back IOL
