ReStor lens implants

I am 71.  Cataracts removed in both eyes, and ReStor lens implanted in both eyes----rt. eye in 1/2008-----lt. eye 5/2008------ReStor lens used because I have tiny pupils which ReZoom lens are not compatible with.  Vision now near 20/40 in both eyes.  Clear vision at 12 inches out (for reading)------fuzzy vision for computer (must wear glasses for)-------beyond 5 feet vision is pretty good, but not great.  Only wear glasses for computer work now.

Halos and star bursts around any light-source with both eyes, individually or together, day or night. Night driving is scary.  Slight double-vision with both eyes now, individually or together. Both these conditions present from day of operations, and have not improved at all to date (roughly one year).  Eyes are both annoyingly "itchy" all the time, and eye drops don't help.

I do have glaucoma, corrected with daily drop of TRAVATAN in each eye.  No other medications taken except suppliments for osteo-arthritis, saw palmetto, and Q-10 suppliment, plus baby aspirin daily. Blood pressure runs in the 130/85 range, + or - a little bit.  No hypertension meds taken at this time.  (have in the past---benicar 10mgs)

Is my itchyness, double vision, and halos normal??  and am I stuck with it forever??

Thanks, baramos

Do searches on the Multifocals as suggested.  If your doctor doesn't acknowledge the possibilities of problems with the lens go get to a second and third opinion outside of his office preferrable a teaching hospital.

1. Use the search feature and archives to read about all the problems with ReStor IOLs.
2. Travitan can cause itchyness. Discuss with our eye MD.
3. Consider a second opinion.
