Restor Cataract lens replacement

I had Restor lenses implanted in July 2008. I am a healthy, 58 year old. Distance in bright sunlight is fantastic. But, I have lost ability to drive at night (due to glare and rings around lights), I can no longer use computer or read without glasses - and the strength of the glasses needed changes every day!. So, what was the point? Restor lenses (at over $4,500 out-of-pocket), were supposed to make me glasses-free. Instead, I have glasses in strengths from 1.25 to 2.75 scattered all over the house! I am so disappointed with the outcome, and would do anything to have my old vision back. I can no longer pick up the newspaper, read the mail, or do any of the small everyday tasks I used to be able to do. Beware of Restore lenses - read the fine print - it says you may experience some "visual disturbances." What an understatement - these lenses have robbed my of the joy of reading, the ability to be on the computer for longer than 10 minutes at a time, and the ability to drive at night. I would give anything to have my old sight back. Now, the doctor told me today that I should try antiglare glasses with a trifocal transition. I had that before the surgery - what a huge mistake I made. I am making an appointment with UCLA to see if I can have them taken out and my old nearsightedness restored.

Sounds like you're on the right track, but why do you want your old nearsightedness back?  Get aspheric monofocal lenses and have them set for blended vision (distance vision in dominant eye, intermediate in non-dominant).  If all goes as planned, you would only need glasses for prolonged reading or seeing small print.
