Hi,
Well, no guarantees unfortunately with any lens. Each has it's pro's and cons. I'm 48, and I had clear lens replacement done (no cataracts, just did it to improve vision....) done in January. Although I went into it with the thought I would be happy if I didn't have to wear glasses ALL the time, I had great results. 20/20 distance and reading, and intermediate I'd say is about 20/25. One little less crisp spot at about 3.5 feet, that clears if I move my head a few inches forward or back. The only minor "less perfect" things I have are: 1. It's hard to read something that's printed grey on yellow, or black on red, in low light, and it's small. It's fine with a little more light. 2. Headlights, stoplights, etc. at night, off in the distance look like fuzzballs. But the wierd thing is, eveything around them is crystal clear. The fuzziness goes away as the cars get closser and look like normal headlights. My night vision is way better than when I wore glasses or contacts so I don't find it annoying at all. So my vision is not like a 20 year old's... but almost. Now I had SUPER good results; not all do. My thought was I will take the gamble to wear glasses only occasionally. I won the gamble big time. I know the new restor, with the +3.0 add which I had put in, is way better than the old ones. Better intermediate vision, and less halos and glare. Also remember, Restor works way better with 2 eyes done. I wore a monofocal distance contact for two weeks in between eye surgery, and the eyestrain at work on the computer was driving me nuts. So I am so happy I had it done. My vision has never been this good in my entire life. Good luck!
Two months ago I had both eyes done at Berkley Eye Clinic in Houston, with AcrySoft IQ aspheric mono focal lenses. Originally, the Dr. was promoting Crystalens and after much research I decided not to chance a poor outcome with an accommodating lens. Now, this same Dr. is touting Restor lenses. I'm not sure why he switched their marketing efforts, but he claims a very high satisfaction rate with the Restor IOL and the Crystalens promos are no longer on their web page. You might ask about this. You can search this forum and read my previous comments about my cataract experiences. I am glad I saved my money and went with the mono focal as I have 20/20 now and only need cheap readers for close up reading. By the way, Berkley is one outstanding clinic in my opinion and I highly recommend them. Good luck and keep up posted.

The new ReStor is better. However, you can not predict who will not neuroadapt. My choice would be a Crystalens AO ( I have one in my eye). The quality of vision is good and if you have some macular problems (like me) you would not be a good candidate for a multifocal IOL.
