What is wrong with my eye???? My lacrimal caruncle itches severly..

Okay, I may be overexaggerating but I need to know for sure. I am 15 years old and wear makeup everday, so my parents just thinks it's my makeup irritating my eye and won't give it anymore attention. So I just want to be safe. I have worn makeup for a good two years now and never had this problem until just a few days ago. The corner of one of my eyes tends to itch horribly, and sometimes my upper eyelid too as if I have a irritated eye lash. This seems to only happen a certain time of day, like when i close my eyes for bed it keeps me up. If I don't itch, it tends to burn horribly. But if I itch, it itches more and my lacrimal caruncle becomes blood red and reminds me a bit of cherry eye that I saw on my dog. It doesn't stay, the itching and cherry eye look goes away but the next day it comes back in either one or both of my eyes. Help????

Assuming you don't wear contact lens or glasses the most common reason would be an irritant coming into contact with your eyes. For women the most common agents are cosmetics, for males its often work related irritants that gets on hands and they run in the eye. Hair spray and dye can also cause it. your best bet would be to go in to see an eye MD ophthalmologist for a definitive diagnosis. Also take some good pictures when the lacrimal caruncle is inflamed and swollen along with your eyes when they look the worse. This can help the Eye MD make a diagnosis if you go in an a day when your eyes look okay.
