Can't choose and have restor in one eye???

I am 39 years old and have never had problems with my eyes until I started deloping cataracts about 6 months ago. It came on strong and I needed to do something about them. I went to a doctor I knew and he recommended the Restor as the best Multifocus lens as he does not use the Rezoom? I did a lot of research and couldn't make up my mind between the two to see if I needed to go to another doctor and get another opinion. I am very active and still play competitive Volleyball and softball and lots of golf. I want the best vision I can get without wearing glasses. Not sure I made the right choice, I am not blaming the doctor as the lense is probably doing what it's supposed to do. But I am worried I should have chosen the Rezoom instead? I had the right eye done Monday and can see pretty good, but only close up between 7'' to about 12'', after that things become a little blurry. But I am most worried about my vision from 20 yards out and a little furhter. It seems a little blurry. Not sure if doing the other eye will correct this. A lady from my office has the Rezoom and I have put her through some test with one eye and think she has better over all site then me??? Should I put Rezoom in the other eye? Will my doctor replace the Restor with the Rezoom in my right eye, or are most trained only to replace a Multifocus with a standard. I am not a perfectionist, but just want the truth and best over all sight I can get. Maybe going to a Standard lens and using contacts is the way to go??? I know most people I read are very angry and you never here the good things about each Lens. I just want to be told the right thing for my situation.

If I decide to put the stardard in the left eye next week and want to replace the Restor with the standard as well. What will happen???

Is it dangerous to do a replant?

If I have standard in both eyes will my over all vision (except from arms length) be very good?

I take it from arms lenght in I would need glassed or contacts?

Will from arms length in be horrible, or just a little blurry.

Thanks, Bobby

You should get a second opinion.  You eye is off target if you can only see close.  I have put in many Rezooms and Arrays(1st generation Rezoom), a moderate number of ReStors and many Crystalens.  All have good and bad points.  The Rezoom seems to have the most problems with glare and fewer doctors are using them.

Also, use the search function.
