Swollen Eye :/

About three to four days ago my eye began to feel like I had been punched in the face on the left side.  I woke up the next morning to find a swollen eyelid, and a few lumps about the size of a piece of rice to a pin head.  I gave it a day then went to the after hours where they gave me drops. Its since been two days and it gets more swollen everyday, today being swollen shut.  The outside is purple and red and the inside is bright red and the lumps are growing. It is very painful when its open, but even more when its closed. Help? Its blurring my vision in my left eye, my pupil is very dilated, and its getting harder and harder to see. I need this infection gone!

I went to my family doctor yesterday because he was going to refer me to an opthalmologist but decided to give me an oral antibiotic and another kind of eye drop. He said that by today it should look like normal and that possibly on monday I would have to go to my eye doctor to get the lumps "popped".  Well, again, I woke up with it just about swollen shut and the area around my eye is swelling now, causing my eyelid skin to overlap when I try to open it. Any idea what this could be so I can go in with an option instead of getting medicine that is not working?

You're getting worse. You need to move beyond present RX. Call an ophthalmologist eye md and try and get in today. Find on in USA at www.aao.org elsewhere ask your family MD to refer you

I forgot to mention that the lumps are on the inside of my eyelid, not the outside. They are more towards the inner corner of my eye.
