Top eyelid twitching

Okay so, i'm a 16 year old girl.
Pretty healthy. Not overweight. im 5'2.

For the past 2 week, my upper right eyelid was twitching enough for it to bother me. Constantly.
Its wed now, i woke up monday morning and it was swollen, i felt like it was lower but everyone said it didnt look any different.
Tuesday it was very sore.
Today i couldnt open it, because it was so swollen. It was "crusty" or anything, it was just THAT swollen up.
I'm really worried about it. I tried to google it but i didn't find anything exactly like mine.
Should i go to the doctor? Will it pass?
My mom said it was a stye, but ive had a stye before and one of my friends has them alot and this is NOTHING like what happens to her.
Please write back soon.

Generally its "myokymia" use the search feature and archives to read about. Also on wikipedia. This is not the same thing as superior oblique myokymia.

If it's swollen, painful to touch and red a stye is likely
If its swollen but no pain and hard bump in lid chalazion is likely
If its swollen and itchy no pain no readness some sort of allergic reaction is likely.

You can try warm compresses but if it doesn't improve soon see an ophthalmologist. Find one near you at www.aao.org
