Treatment for red sclera caused by thimerosal

I started wearing contact lenses in 1994. After aprox. 1 year, I started using some eye drops to lubricate the eye a bit. The one I started using was called Adapettes, and it had thimerosal on its formula. I stopped using it 2 or 3 days afterwards, when I noted my sclera got a bit red and I could see some blood vessels. It was then that I found out it had thimerosal, and I'm allergic to mercury.

Those red blood vessels are stil visible, though not so much, specially after a long day wearing contact lenses. I wonder if there's anything I can do to get the sclera white. I remember once I used some antibiotics on my eye (prescribed some years ago), and while I used it, the sclera got totally white again. I wonder if there's anything more permanent I could try.

Thanks!

No there isn't anything in the way of meds or surgery or laser that is appropriate.
