9 yr old, headaches, orange tint

My 9 yr old old son has complained of headaches for years. I have mentioned it to his PCP and it was always passed off as nothing. Recently they became worse and the PCP put him on allergy medication. Shortly after, my son confessed that his right eye hurt often and everything out of that eye was an orange tint. (he's a quiet boy and rarely tells me his symptoms) I took him to our optician a week later.

He said he is farsighted in his right eye but can't see any healthy problems with the eye itself. We've ordered glasses and he wants him to wear a patch a couple hours a day on the good eye. I am very concerned about the orange and his constant headaches. I have made him an appt with a pediatric ophthalmologist (which is for this Wednesday), but while waiting I am trying to get information on what could be causing this. I don't find any information on seeing orange tint from one eye.

Another side note, he's had a swollen lymph node in his neck a couple of years and I keep bringing it up at his PCP appts. This last visit (2 weeks ago) they realized he also had a swollen lymph node in his groin. I was told to keep an eye on them and if they are still there in 6 months they will send him for a biopsy.

Hi, My little brother is 7 years old and this had happened to him also. He has complained about headaches for so long and eventually started throwing up from them. My mother recently went throught a bunch of eye doctors and had to go to philly to get him checked out. His eye turned in after all of this turned in like a lazy eye so I would definately not let the headache thing go believe me. Its very serious and scary and it happens so quickly.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
I would definitely recommend you see eyeMD's and additional MD's regarding your son's eye problems, headaches and  enlarged lymph nodes.  I would make a note of the following for the doctor, when the headaches began, the severity of the headaches [mild, moderate, severe], how often they occur [days per month, never stops], where they are located [front, back, no pattern, everywhere, doesn't know], what the headache feels like, how long the headaches last, other symptoms, any particular time of day, any triggers, other symptoms, strange taste or ringing in teh eyears, worse with position, head injury, did head injury trigger headache, infection, sinus or allergy symptoms, runny nose, drainage from nose, cough, pressure symptoms on face, school performance, family medical history, exercise, etc.

If enlarged lymph nodes persist for more than one month, a work up may be indicated.  Please inform the eyeMd and he/she will be able to assist you.
