UVEITIS

Does anyone on this forum have uveitis?

I've had it for 3 years, and I'm taking Methotrexate to keep it in remission. Until I got the right treatment, by the right doctor, the optic nerve in the left eye has been mostly destroyed. Because of the Prednisone prescribed for me, I also have an inoperable cataract, thankfully my right eye is functioning well.
I would like to chat with others diagnosed with uveitis, I also have ovarian cancer.

If you are still around the forum ...

I  have had about a half dozen random and unexplained anterior uveitis flares in both eyes for the past 2-1/2 years.  So far, the steroid drop regimen has beaten it back, but it is frightening when a flare happens (like today) early on a weekend and the doctor is unavailable. I am wary of the drugs like Methotrexate -- what is it like for you with a compromised immune system?   I am a caregiver and simply cannot be catching "things" easily.  As it is, I never, ever,  get sick -- except for the awful uveitis -- and I do love my nice strong immune system.
