Dear doctor,I was struck in the eye with a hard marble,i went to the er room of course i looked bsd red, dlood shot swelling, the next day i went to a eye doctor ,who gave me some powerful eye dialation drops, to keep pupil dialated,i used them for 2 days when i returned home 3,4 days later i noticed my pupil was large,so i aws rushed to a specialist,i had no nerve damage, they believe it is my sphincter muscle, traumatic mydrasis,,but the muscle is so tiny no one can really say yes or no but it has to be the reason why my eye is fixed,2yrs later still fixed no movement will not even come down with pilo drops.the party who is responsible,to pay all my medical is trying to find a way out because i used those eye drops, see the eye drops was covering the blown pupil that showed up a few days later, just because it was not blown right then it took a few days i have never been injured in my eye ever and my medical history reflects that,i was wondering why the doctors could not tell the difference that it was eye dialation in my eye can a doctor no if a patient has drops in,ireally need your advice they are trying to say 2yrs later im using eye drops crazy as it may sound .im going back to there doctor who said he was going to do some more test on me to see if it is eye drops our  a blown pupil  what test could he do to prove there crazy theroy,so i will be prepared and have some knowledge of what he is going to do to try and get out of this injury they did to me.i  it is all on film thank god when the marble struck me like a bullet.i do not believe ther is anything medically to tell the difference beside using pilo which they didand nothing happed still fixed pupil i just need to be a little knowledgable so i will be ready  for this appt. seeking help thank you

The muscle that constricts the pupils can be paralyzed by trauma and medications.  It is hard to tell except the one with drops will return to normal size with time.

You have traumatic mydriasis and drops will not help.  This is permanent, but can be fixed at the time of cataract surgery in the future.
