Your profile lists you at 54 years old. If your cholesterol is normal then this is a normal aging change like your hair turning gray and wrinkles developing on the skin. No there is no treatment for it. It is not worth wearing colored contacts to hide the ring. I'm assuming you have seen an ophthalmologist but perhaps you haven't. In that case see an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam and to confirm this is a corneal arcus and not something like a peripheral corneal degeneration.

As of this past spring people have been telling me I have blue eyes but for the longest time my eyes have been a pretty chocolate brown. When I went to visit my dad's family i learned my grandmother had it and they knew I was their family, but they too all have the blue ring. My cholesterol is under control according to my Dr. CAN THIS BE SOMETHING ELSE?
Thank you so much Doctor Hagan..I had myself scared for a moment by old wives tales :)
THank you doctor, i appreciate the time and concern you took to answer my question.
He needs to see a ophthalmologist. Older than 65 its usually a corneal arcus due to aging. Younger than that its arcus juvenalis and is associated with elevated blood lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides) See a ME and see an ophthamologist. Google images the term
