catarct in 18 year old

Hi, My 18 year old so was diagnosed with catarcts in both eyes shortly after LASIK. Is there any alternative treatment to a catarct surgery? Does anyone know anything about CAN-C drops (n-acetylcarnosine), it is claimed to cure senile cataracts. Is is a scam, or can they be tried for an 18 year old?

Also, can cataract be confused (misdiagnosed) with something else? Does it make sense to get a second opinion on this diagnosis?

1. Don't smoke
2. Good diet (fruits, veggies, fiber, fish, berries, nuts, low fat, low sugar)
3. No alcohol
4. Protection from injury and sunlight (had, UV blocking sunglasses).
5. I don't think the drops are available. The need is incalcuable since cataracts become more common with age.

7. Some studies have indicated that a daily vitamin plus 400 units of "natural mixed tocoperals Vit E and 500 mgm of Vit C may slow cataracts BUT other studies show that extra vit E may be bad for the hearts of some people so extra Vit E is generally not recommended. Research is not clear on this.

Is there anything to at least slow down cataract process and preventit from developing further?

Also, the drops that are now being tested and not widely available: can limited quantities be still be obtained somehow?

Can-C   scam.

Several promiscing drops are being tested by legitimate medical researchers but are not widely available.

Lasik should NOT cause the cataracts.

Surgery is indicated when the vision is moderately or severely impaired and the cataracts are the cause.
