No that's not the standards that most lasik surgeons use. I would suggest you find a well thought of lasik surgeon in your area and consult him/her. Many ophthalmologists don't charge for lasik evaluations. Find a refractive surgeon near you at www.aao.org

thank u sooo much. i had wore one pair of contacts for 1 year. which my dr. said is what caused it because of the calcium deposits and dirt on the lenses. and not allowing my eyes to breath during the day. but i am not sure if i qualify for lasik. my vision is -6.50 in both eyes. but my vision tends to get worse or better every year by .25 and my doctor said until my eyes stay the same for atleast 3 years i dont quilify. is that right?
Yes Muro 128 ointment at bedtime and drops during the day will likely clear the edema faster. However it indicates your contacts were damaging your eye and you need re-fit, go to glasses or go to lasik
