My son's eye are dialated all the time

I have noticed just recently that my 8 year old son's eyes seem to be dialated even in bright light.  He is taking Concerta for ADHD and he seems more absent minded than usual.  Can the Concerta be causing the side effect of the dialation to his eyes?  I mean his eyes are almost completely black with a very thin line of blue around them.  I checked his eyes this morning before he took his Concerta pill and his eyes were still dialated, but not as badly as after he takes the Concerta.  Should I take him to an eye doctor or should I discuss this with his psychiatist (who prescribes his Concerta) first?

It is a central nervous system stimulant, so it may dilate the pupil.  Call his psychiatrist.
