Blurry vision after Cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery, and yag, on left eye, right eye was done a few years ago.  I wore reading glasses, now I cannot see to drive at night. I have a floater and vitreous gel in my left eye.  They tell me it is normal.  It drives me crazy to be in bright light or on the computer.  I am only 54 years old.
The right eye has lens for distance, the left is for close up.  I can't see in between unless I wear glasses.  I wish he would have put a medium lens in, and I could wear reading glasses.  It has been 8 months since the surgery, my eye drives me crazy, even to look at the television.  The dr. tells me I will get used to this.  My eye is worse now than before the surgery.  I feel as though I have a film over my eye whenever I am in bright places or in department stores.  Is there anything that can be done to help this blurryness and the floater.

If I were you, I would get checked for "posterior capsule opacity". This is another type of cataract behind the lens that is easily solved. You sound like you have that.

To see the best you can out of both eyes you will need progressive bifocals. Use the search feature on this page to read previous posts about floaters and getting use to them. You can help the blur with glasses the floaters you'll have to get use to.
