we had consulted doc for lens replacement surgery they said we need to wait for three months becos there is some swelling in retina is this a serious complication? they said to contacts untill then as she is an employee is it btr to use contacts or to continue to work wit the other eye which is not operated but catract was present in that eye too suggest me the beter option?
I'm not sure what the protocol is in your country, but here in the U.S patients are generally asked to use topical eyedrops 3-4 times per day for at least a couple of weeks after the surgery -- possibly longer depending on the eye surgeon's instructions. Generally these include an antibiotic to ward off infection, a corticosteroid to control inflammation, and possibly an additional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory as an additional preventive measure against inflammation.
When reaching for things, try to use your legs rather than bending deeply from the waist, as this can increase stress on the operated eye. Avoid lifting heavy items for a few days post-surgery. Also avoid rubbing or scratching the eye, and when bathing, showering or washing avoid getting water into the operated eye.
