looked at the sun

I was outside the other day and looked directly at the sun (not intentional) I had seen a red light in my eyes for a few seconds. But now my eyes are uncomfortable, and burn a little. Have I done permanent damage? How long before damage appears? Would it be immediate? I'm am so worried that I may go blind or have done something else to my eyes, It has been over 16 hours. Please help!

Would there be immediate damage? Or would it take a few days to appear? I don't have any blurred vision, or blind spots. Any help is appreciated!

You are probably ok.  The burning is not related to this.  Looking at the sun can result in a burn in your retina.
