medication

I recently was perscribed an antibiotic.. This medicine hurt my eyes and made them very sensitive to light. When I called the Dr. he wanted to charge me again to come in his office. I could not afford to return.  I discontinued the antibiotic immeditatly. It took several days for my eyes to adjust to daylight. Now my eyesight seems weaker? Have you ever heard of any thing like this happening to anyone before?.I wonder what I should do.

I never said that I put the medicine in my eyes? I had a bladder infection and was given the antibiotic Bactrin - which caused pain and light sensitivity to my eyes. I stopped the medication immeditatly and have had poor vision ever since. The perscribing Dr.wants to charge me again to return and change the perscription! Even after he hurt me so. I asked if this happens to anyone else?

It would be very unlikely for the antibiotic drops to damange your eyes or reduce your vision. An infection that you were taking the drops for could. If you vision is getting worse you need to go wee an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one near you at www.aao.org
