new glasses

Hello!
I am 60 yrs old women,  have new prescription glasses and my vision is blurred. I wear glasses since early childhood because of astigmatism and nearsightedness. My previous glasses with progression lenses  prescribed in 2000 were as follows:

RE  SPH  +0.25  CYL -1.75  AXIS 180
LE  SPH   +1.50  CYL -2.75  AXIS 0
ADDITION + 2.5D

New glasses also with progression lenses are:

RE  SPH  +1.50  CYL -1.00 AXIS 15
LE  SPH  +2.50  CYL -1.75  AXIS 180
Addition +2.25D

I returned to the optician, they checked everything, fitted frame to my face once more, but it didn't helped.

My question is:  What may cause my blurred  vision?  I suspect  lower CYL values.

Thanks for answer and any commments.

Hello, I wish I had the prescriptions in front of me but I had an eye examanation by my regular doctor who has never made a mistake.  My eyes did have a significant change.

My new prescrition was very blurry, distance, trifocal and bifocal.  My doctor reexamined at no charge and lowered the prescription.

I once again had the prescription filled and still blurry vision, especially with the bifocals.  Things in a distance seem larger but that is the only difference I see.  Still some blurriness.

I think I am going for a refund.

Thanks,

joy

Those prescriptions are all over the place. If you get a new pair of glasses in the USA and have problems in the first 30 days its customary for the Eye MD or optometrist to repeat the glasses test for free as well as check the glasses and the optician to remake the glasses at nor charge. Many companies that make glasses also give a money back guarentee if the person is no  happy with RX in 30 days.

Can you return them all for credit.

When glasses RX are all over the place one thinks of undiagnosed diabetes or diabetes that is out of control. If you have diabetes or family history of diabetes or increased thirst, increased urination and unexplained weight loss you should be tested.

Hello , I am 35 and from the UK, I am having trouble obtaining a new prescription. I have been tested by 3 leading companies in the UK and I am not sure which prescription is correct.

1st Company
      Sph     Cyl       Axis
R.  -3.50   +2.50    152.5
L.  -3.50   +2.00      51

2nd Company
      Sph     Cyl       Axis
R.  -0.75   -2.50      64
L.  -1.50   -1.75      35

3rd Company
      Sph     Cyl       Axis
R.  -1.25   -3.00       55
L.  -1.50   -2.50      135

The 3rd company seems to be the best ths far but it is costing me a small fortune, and I am still no nearer to which is correct or even how I would know.

Any comments would be appreciated.

That is a reasonable big change in your RX.  You should call the eye doctor that prescribed the new glasses and make an appointment for a "glasses recheck" it is reasonable NOT to be charged for this service. Take your new and old RX in to have your eyes retested and the glasses rechecked. It is also reasonable for the optical company to remake your glasses without charge at least once.

Do this quickly as if you wait more than a month many opticals will charge you to recheck.
