How a small WTR astigmatism can benefit ?

Dr Hagan,
I read some of your previous post mentioned that a little bit WTR astigmatism may be benefit.
Can you explain the theory behind that ?
Let say for a regular person if he has astigmatism of 1.1D WTR astigmatism and mild myopia. Does it means we should have the glass/contact to correct only part of it (e.g. 0.6D) and leave some uncorrected.

Thanks

Dr Hagan, Dr Oyakawa,
I am sorry that I give you the impression of abusing the system but this is definitely not my intention. I just suffered too much from my eye problem and at one point I really didn't know how to live this eye.
Anyway,  I got a lot of valuable advice from you two busy practitioners and other members in this site like Jodie and thanks a lot. I used to think that I have some retina problem, or the buckle problem which cannot be cured.  At one point of time I also suspected my pain (as suggested my eye doctor) is just a psychological problem.

I got the insight and direction from here to tackle my problem like the cataract, mismatch myopia and the dry eye. I learnt the medicine Restasis from here and started using for 3 weeks and it seems my dry eye is better.

Finally, I just want to say thanks again. I hope I can just post the news of my problem is fixed in the near future instead of asking any more questions.

Taurus: Dr. O and I are extremely busy practitioners. We do these clinics as a public service of physicians and the American Academy of Ophthalmology literally for the world.

I am not going to entertain any further questions from you especially "teaching". Sorry, none of the other forums comes even close to answering as many questions as we do (last count 36,000 on the two eye forums since inception).

You are obviously intellient. You can get answers over the internet.
