removal of multifocal IOL

I had a surgery done on my right eye 3 months ago with a Carl Zeiss bifocal lens. The glare and halos are quite distuibing especially during night time. It makes me a bit dizzy and feel imbalance when my left eye is wearing a contact lens. I am afraid the glare and halos will never disappear. My right eye near vision is not very good although I can read at books at a distance of about 10 inches. My intermediate vision (ie about 30 inches) is unexpectly good, probably because I have some astimagtism.
Can someone pls advise me the risks involved in replacing a multifocal lens with a monofocal lens? And is it worth exchanging the lens ??
Many thanks
nichova

Thanks very much for sharing of your experience.
Nearly another month has gone and there is no change to my situation. Do you think the eye drop you mentioned help you to adapt to the glare and halos..etc or is it just a temp cure (for a few hours only) ??

Does anyone has any statistics that how many % of people having multifocal lens implanted will have their glare and halos last forever...?

To Dr O,
do you have any statistics on the replacement of multfocal to monofocal lens? Especially on the results and risks...etc

Many thanks
Nichova

Its miles to earlier to consider exchange, take it from me whos had same proceeder, for starter it took 9 months to see a big difference with halos and glares and starburst, and upto 12months  for them to disappear nearly completely,as for the vision, imy vision was blurry up to 4 months, before i notice a big differnce, but them 6 -7 months for vision to go sharp.. as for glare and halos you can try pircarpoine drops or alphgame p drops which will shrink your pupils at night, which will take that away, myself found these drops made my eyes sore, and blurr,A better option ,which i stumbled on, was Tramadol  100mg late afternoon will take your glare and halo away, and relax your eyes, its a pain killer but work wonder for eyes!

This too early to exchange the IOL.  It can take 5 to 6 months to adapt the the glare and halos.  If you do not adapt, the lens can be removed and replaced with a monofocal IOL.
