Thank you for your reply to my question. I am happy to know that you don't feel that a second oinion is needed. I have one more question. Is the nevus ( approx. 2mm thick and 8-9mm in diameter) larger than most found on the choroid layer, or average for this type of nevus?

You should be concerned. Exact figures of developing into a melanoma are not available, varies with size, appearance, ultrasound characteristics, etc. If you are comfortable with the retinal specialist no need to change horses. Observation with carfeful ultrasound measurement is standard.
