Im having eye pain in my right eye, how can i tell if it is just sinuses?

I woke up this morning with my right eye slightly hurting, as the day has gone on it has gotten worse.  Sensitivity to light, swollen, watery, and just moving it hurts.  It feels more of my eye ball itself is what is hurt.  I've had some sinus problems in the past week but felt as though it had gotten better.  Also is heat or ice better to place over it to help with the swelling and the pain?

This type of problem is not characteristic of sinus induced problem which is usually just pressure and discomfort around and behind the eye. Plus typical sinus symptoms.

You have to start with ruling out a primary eye problem. So try and get in to see an ophthalmologist tomorrow. Call early and ask for a "work in" or "emergency" exam or ask your family MD to refer you.

Traumatic swelling its usually ice for 24 hrs then heat. Don't patch the eye. If you have sinus symptoms try decongestants.
