Those are generally the openings of the Meibomean glands, about 40 on each lid, sometimes they can be opened with with compresses and the use of a lid cleaning product like Ocusoft, Eye -scrub or Theratear-Sterilid cleaning foam.

hi
Like jjmom3 i have like a tiny white-heads like thing near my tear duct. I'm wondering if there's any way I can get rid of it or what it is called. I tried using tweaser and needle just to take it out, stupid move, but im just anxious to see it gone. Plus it looks like its getting a wee bigger.
Thanks a lot!

Probably plugged oil gland (Meibomian gland). Very unlikely ocular herpes.
