You understand i cannot give you specific advice nor do the rules of this forum allow me to look at your father's tests and chart. That would constitute forming a doctor patient relationship which is prohibited on this site. So generally speaking the prognosis is extremely poor and the return of any vision in the injured eye is unlikely. The treatment sounds like it was appropriate. The most important thing is to protect your fathers good eye from another injury, eye disease or health problems that could damage the eye. You father should wear glasses to protect the good eye, should always be thinking eye safety and avoiding activities that have eye hazard. He will need to see an Eye MD at least every 12 months, he should have a personal MD and probably see that doctor every 6 months. He needs to live a healthy lifestyle-not smoke, watch his weight, eat a good diet, don't drink too much alcohol, exercise. There is a book called "A Singular View" it is out of print but you can get it on ebay and it talks about adjusting to one eye.
