10 positive hpts one neg blood betta at the hospital

hi i have been getting positive home pregnancy tests all week, they were all light but i took them right and read them before the time was up, they were a bunch of different brands so i know it wasnt because of the certian test i was taking, i have been trying for a baby for 5 years so i know how to take a pregnancy test, anyway, i had a betta test done at the hospital and they said it was negitive, this was the day after i got on or two of my positives, it might have only been a total of 11 days since i ovulated wich would have made me about 3 weeks and 3 days pregnant, i am 4 days late for af now, so heres my questions, do you think it could have been to early or mabe it was wrong, and why would a home pee test pick up before a blood test? i have had some symptoms, boobs hurt, a little crampie, feels like im starving then when i get food i dont want to eat it, sleep like a log but thats not normal for me because im a night owl, feet hurt and lower back hurts, verry moody, and some dreams about pregnancy tests,babys, and being pregnant, all before i got my positive tests. please if you have anything rude to say then go somewhere else and say it, i am looking for people with expierence in this happening to them or people that have known people that this has happend to, thank you for all you comments. wich leaves me with one more question. do you think im still pregnant? or ever was?

if a hpt is showing your are pregnant your hcg level would be at least 20. and a hcg test from a doctor checks your level. anything over 5 is pregnant. And that said. I never hear about a hcg level being wrong on a blood test. they are more sensitive then a hpt. In december i knew i was pregnant but the hpt kept saying negitive. I called my doctor and they did a blood test and my hcg level was at a 15. I m/c'ed 2 days after finding out. I was so mad. That the hpt didnt pick it up. and i was even a week late. Come to find out i have low progestrone... With is why i m/c'ed now i take progestrone pills just in case i get pregnant. BABY DUST TO YOU GIRL

thanx hun, thats what i planned to do, i hope by the time my hubby gets home from out of town my tests are alot darker, and then ill take one with me to the docs

I was getting positive tests before with a different pregnancy at 3, 11, 40 hcg levels so I know it is possible to get very faint positives with preg tests. Worse case scenerio is a chemical pregnancy (let's not even think of cancer). Best case scenerio is someone messed up. If you are getting positive tests, have taken no hormonal drugs that could cause a false positive (like drugs with hcg in them, not tylenol :) then I will say you are preggo. Take a test again and again. Heck, I took MY TESTS IN A BAGGIE to the docs WITH ME!!! I was POed when I found I was actually preggo TWO weeks later! There was no way I conceived after the negative test because I was VERY closely monitored, had an hcg shot and an IUI when i KNOW I ovulated (trust me - I felt that pain :) So, i know I was preggo when they took the blood test. I know if you are preggo, and the tests are saying you are, then a different doc or lab shouldn't screw this up. Praying for you sweetie - hang in there and find a new doc ASAP! Don't say anything except that you just had a positive pregnancy test and need to have your blood work done. Don't go into the whole story because they will assume you are nutty and probably not give you a blood test, especially if you say you already had one and it was negative. Just call a new doc and tell them you just found out you are pregnant and need a test. If that test comes back negative (and you are still getting + tests at home) then something is not right and you need to get in to actually see a doc. Good luck! HUGS to you!

hi i want to first off say how sorry i am to hear about your loss and i also want to thank you for sharing your experiance with me, i have been looking for someone that has gone through the same thing as i am to put my mind at ease, i feel like im going crazy, but i feel in my heart that i am pregnant and im scared that if i cant find a doctor to beleive me that something might happen to my baby, i strongly believe that there is no way that over 12 pregnancy tests can be wrong, i have taken, EPT, riteaid brand, answer lab test strips, doller store brands and the only negitives i ever got were with frer, my first positive was with the answer brand, i got darker positives today with the rite aid brand and when my husband comes home in 4 days i will take another test, if it is darker then i will find a better doctor to go to and demand an ultrasound, i mean what else besides some drugs can cause all these positives? ive hear that some cansers can.

to get a positive urine test your blood hcg levels have to be more than 20.  
but lab mistakes absolutely happen.
so definitely get another opinion on this one....and get your blood levels rechecked.

This is really odd... I've never heard of anything like that happening; it's usually the other way around! If you're only 3-4 days late for your period, you may want to wait another couple of days and repeat the blood test. I've never gotten an inaccurate test from hpts, though; when it was negative, it was negative and when it was positive it was right too! I know how horrible the wait is ugh... hi,   first i would like to say that blood work is NOT 100%, nothing is ever 100%, it could have been to early for the blood work to show. no this is not in my head, i know my body, even if im somehow not pregnant im getting these symptoms for a reason. but good luck with you pregnancy and thanx

hi thanks for the comment but no im not an any drugs at all, a tylonal here or there is the only thing i ever take, and i didnt have a misscariage i have no bleeding at all so i will test again in a week to be sure then im going to a different doc because the ones i saw were pushy assholes and my nurse didnt even know what a chemical pregnancy was, ive been studying this for five years, its bad when you know more than your nurse or doc about pregnancy. thank you

Well I am totally the opposite. I get like 10 Negitive HPT but test POS of bloodtest. HPT are not 100%, but bloodwork are usually 100%. There are weird things that happen. But you can usually pick up HCG in bloodwork BEFORE an HPT. So if HPT was positive then bloodwork should be positive. Everyone is different, and we always heard this. If you are still continuing to get POS HPT, then I would see your doctor. Also has far as all of your sympthoms, we as women when we are TTC, we can make some sympthoms up in our heads. Not saying that you are. But like me, I eat, sleep, and work TTC. Which isn't good, because stress will not bless me with a child any faster. I would say to see your doc, if you continue getting POS HPT.

If you are taking fertility drugs it could possibly give you a posititve home pregnancy test.   I think you should get a second opinion just to make sure.  You could of been pregnant but had a misscariage or something. Good luck!!

well i just whent againts my promise i took another test, but it has been two days sence ive taken one so i didnt see the harm in it, and low and behold just like i thought it was instantly light positive but darker than all my other tests, if theres something wrong with my baby im going to sue the hell out of that hospital
