Congrats on your GORGEOUS son Noah. He is VERY handsome. A friend of mine had a blond haired blue eyed baby boy at age 45. I guess that must be a good year for having beautiful babies : )
Yes, we did IVF and transferred 2, 3 day embryos. Thanks for the heads up...I thought 5 weeks was early, but I am thrilled that we will be able to see who's in there sooner rather than later. We already know that I will have to consult with a high risk OB during pregnancy so I am thinking that maybe that is why my RE wants to have a looksee. If we have twins I will def have to see him right away for consult. If there are two little beanies in there do you think that would be visible by 5 weeks?
I've never had a u/s this early - my earliest one was at 7w1d done transvaginally. By 7 weeks, a heartbeat should be visible. At 5w1d, hopefully a gestational sac should be visible & growing nicely. I doubt much else will be seen at this point. Let's see - it should put you about 5w1d like you said. I assume you've done IVF? So you've had a trillion pelvic u/s's (LOL), you know what that's like.
The experience is similar as far as how the procedure's performed. It's just unique because you actually have this little tiny peanut (we called ours tadpole) in there. It's quite wonderful to see because you get to see something in there instead of this big empty place - kind of a weird way to put things.
I wish you the best of luck on Monday!! - jen
