I think it's funny (and cool) that there are so many twins in your family! I have identical twin girls, my Grandmother had two sets of twins (18 months apart in the middle of twelve kids total), her mother had twins, her niece had twins. Some where identical and some were not but it's all guess work unless they want to pay to have DNA tested because they weren't sure years ago.
My point is when I found out I was pregnant with mono mono identical twin girls they told me it was not genetic! They told me it was "an abnormality in my egg". Odd way to phrase my blessings. lol But with families that have so many sets of twins I find it hard to beleive that even identical twins are not genetic. Hmm... : )
Looking at the date of the post your worries are over and hopefully all is well. I have Mono Mono identical twins who are 7 yrs old now. It was a scary road when we were pregnant and they were ultimately taken c-section the day before 32 weeks. They were 4lbs 1 oz and 4lbs 2 ozs, stayed in the NICU for 5 weeks and have been beautiful blessings since then. Stressful road but worth the ride.
Yes, no more googling! It will drive you crazy! Jen I am so happy for you. That is such wonderful news!
aww thanks...your message made me calm down a bit. I am like a google maniac since i got home from the ultrasound. Identical twins are so rare ! I am so relieved to hear about your families success stories :)) Now i will stop the goggling ! LOL
Hi, I am actually a mono-mono twin (identical) my cousins and Uncle are identical and my older sisiter just gave birth to identical twins as well. My sister and I were born vaginally and were born healthy! My older sister had healthy boys and delivered them through a c-section. The only thing I can suggest is to take care of yourself and don't do too much. No lifting, no heavy or strainuos activities in the late pregnancy. Reason being is twins have tendancies of being pre-mature so you do not want to get early contractions like my older sister. She was put on bed rest. Other than that, we have amazing technologies today that help deliver healthy twin babies and i wouldn't pay to much attention to those statistics you heard of. Good luck and congrats!
