May/June 2012 IVFers

Hello ladies, I'm starting my buseraline injections tonight for my 4th treatment (2nd of IVF) and wondered if anyone else is going to be on the same dates, or thereabouts.

I would really like to get a little group together of those going through the same process so we can go through it together and keep each other updated during this hard time :o)

Hi there

Thank you, so we are only just over a week apart, cool.  It's nice to have someone on the same timings.  Yeah first jab of the super fact for me today, blimey usually it never hurts but it did tonight.  I told my hubby he is out of practice lol.

Is this your first ever assisted attempt? Lots of luck to you.  It's tough going, i wont lie to you, especially towards the end but a great partner/support group helps you through it. Keep me posted on your progress :)

I know it's nice. How are you doing with your injections? I feel a little tired, but no side effects so far, but it's only day 3 and I've yet to have my 3rd injection.

I've sent you a message on my story so far :)

Busereline is the meds which shut your system down before the stimulating meds, I think it's known as something different in the US? I'm from the uk :)

Hey sorry it took so ling to reply there are so many threads I sometimes forget! The injections are going well so far, I just get tired & I feel really emotional..lol that might just be stress & fear of the unknown..lol

I got my u/s done today & everything look good, so I get to start my stims on the 19th..my birthday..lol so I will be taking 3 shots a day!!  I'm getting so excited & nervous!! lol  AF finally showed but I had to get u/s done anyway..how embarrassing!! They said I have about 10 follicle in each ovary..I don't know if thats good or not..lol I leave on the 24th to go to Calgary (thats where my clinic is, it's about a 6 hr drive, but I am flying) when I get there it will feel more real & I can ask more questions!

I hope all you ladies are doing well!!

Hi Ladies
God willing I should be starting stims around June 15th. Had a BFP last cycle but it's been taken away. I'm at CD1 today. I have to sit out till next cycle to give my pcos ovaries a break. This will be IVF#3 for us.
Good luck to everyone

Hi Ladies,
Good idea for the May/June IVFer's to stick to one thread :)  I started my Lupron injections today!  Cheekyhalfs, I think this is the US version of the Busereline??? I will start stim injections 05/27.  This is our first IVF after 3 failed IUI's.  Ginger1975, sorry to hear your news...my fingers are crossed for you for this cycle!  Best of luck to us all!

Hi everyone

Just back from the clinic, had to go fill in all the forms again for this round of ivf.

I've looked on my meds and buserelin is basically suprecur! So im on these until my baseline scan, then all being well I can start my stim meds. No one has told me a date for these yet, but I think it will be roundabout the 5th June!  Def feeling a little tired....but feeling ok apart from this.

Ginger, thank you - I pray you can start your ivf in June.
Jiji76, this is our 4th cycle too, but 2nd ivf :)

Hope everyone is well and that our huge BFP's are on the way :o)

Thank you!  Things are looking promising. I asked RE if I could take BCP since my body prefers to make cysts instead of babies and he said yes! I'm hoping it will regulate my cycle too since IVF meds can really mess up AF coming on time.  This next cycle is our last shot with our donor. He's retired now and something just told me to check on him. I don't know why he had 25+ vials before but I was able to purchase the last one. Talk about major stress!!!

So are most of you ladies on the longer protocol?? Once I hit CD1 next time (around June 13th) the entire process including beta is about a month.

Just curious and love to learn about all the different protocols out there.

Hi Ginger

Yeah I had to wait until day 21 of my cycle and to then start the buserelin (suprecur). I'm on these for approx 3 weeks until my baseline scan is all clear, then start my stim meds for about 11 days, before egg collection. So, all being well with both of us, you should only be a couple of weeks behind me ;)

I am excited, but terrified...I feel our chances are massively reduced due to my high nk cells, but my acupuncturist says I now have the same odds as a couple going through ivf - I just pray this is our time, all of our times.

NK cells is totally treatable. I was tested for that along with the other panel ( I forget what it's called) as soon as this cycle slows down I'm starting acupuncture back up as well. I had found someone local I wanted to try but she won't make arrangements to be available the day of transfer so I'm stuck with a 4 hr trip twice a week to see the one I had been using.

Fingers crossed, I hope they can, I will be taking prednisolme again. Steroids to help balance the nk cells (my clinic says I am a special case as they are so high!).

That's a bit of a bummer about your acupuncture, 4 hrs!!! I'm very lucky to have a wonderful local lady, she would see me at 4am if it was necessary. I thought acupuncturists were really common, obviously not :( a 4 hr trip is almost like us having to drive home to Scotland from England each time!mi really hope you can find someone more local ASAP.

I remember taking the prednisone for my fet and it probably would of helped but I had more issues going on that prevented it from working. If they know you have problems with high nk I'm sure you will be watched like a hawk. Praying that stays under control.
Well there are tons of acupuncturist in my area. They claim to be fertility specialists and all but if they really were they or their colleague would be around to see you whenever your transfer may be. This lady I go to is a mile from my RE but her hours are all over the place. Last cycle I was only able to arrange 2 visits to both places on the same day. I don't know what the fees are for where you live but for a couple hrs max at my ET was 400.00!  I get flack from her incompetant office staff trying to schedule and she was charging my insurance for physical therapy by splashing some menthol on my back (I've had 3 back surgeries) I'm really not happy about having to go back but I really have no choice if I want someone at my transfer. It's 2hrs each way and an hour treatment if she's running on time. Its not that shes that far its the extreme traffic on a major freeway thats always congested. Oh well it's not forever!

Hi Ladies,
Ginger1975 regarding your question about our protocol:  I have also been on BCP, prior to starting Lupron.  Now we wait for AF to show up within the next couple of days so I can start my stim meds next week.  I will be on those for about 10 days.  I am not sure if this would be considered a long cycle, but it sure does feel long!  My new RE diagnosed me with "borderline" PCOS so I had to start Metformin for a few months prior to starting the IVF protocol.  For me, the Metformin has been nearly worse than my previous experience with the stim meds.  Regarding accupuncture, I am also lucky to have a lady nearby.  Ginger1975, sounds like your accupuncture situation is pretty stressful!  I appreciate your positive approach to it, and you're right it's only temporary.  Praying all of this will be worth it in the long run!
