Walgreens does the same with clomid. They will do 12.99 for up to 15 pills, then prorate anything after. Yesterday I filled my script for 28 pills (200mgx7days) and it cost me $21. I found this cheaper than my insurance because I had a $15 copay for every 5 pills.
I bought my 75IU Follistim at Shraft for $239 for 4 vital. pretty cheap compare with the other pharmacy.
SAMS club has gonal-f 900 for $612 and hcg for $60. I think it is comparable with follistim. Also, like catsbbw said, Walmart and SAMS have clomid for $9 for every 5 pills.
Good luck!
Wow! What a response that I did not expect. :) I will check into Shraft. It is follistim 900, which I know is more expensive, but I will look to see what Shraft has to offer. I paid between $23 and $34 for clomid at Costco. Ovidrel, I paid $84 at a local pharmacy here. Thank you so much for advice and keep it coming if someone else knows something different.
Can I order medications out of country without a prescription?
Clomid is cheap, especially if you go to a Walmart Pharmacy. It's on their $9 program :-)
Does anyone know how much Clomid costs? Is it just as expensive as that Follistim?
i do a mixture of schraffts and encino med RX - I call and compare and get cheapest on each thing
good luck
Is it legal to sell your unused meds?
I'm asking because my insurance company sent me 2 vials of Follistim 600. This cycle I didnt even use all of 1, so I have an entire unopened, unused vial.
If my IUI works this month I wont even need the other vial. But, I wasnt sure if it was even legal to sell it to someone else...
When I was shopping for ivf meds I did some comparative shopping. I called a few pharmacies and got the following info for 3 typical meds:
I. Follistim 300
Shraft: $239
ivpcare: 234.64
ivfmeds: 187
mdrx: 236.90
freedom pharmacy: 341.25
II. Follistim 600
Shraft: $478
ivpcare: 469.29
ivfmeds: 375
mdrx: 469.87
freedom pharmacy: 682.50
III. Gonal F 900
Shraft: 1047
ivpcare: 1061.81
ivfmeds: 635
mdrx: 1126.97
freedom pharmacy: 657
All of the prices above include the discount for those paying completely out of pocket. Most of these (except Shraft) you can find on line. If you order from Canada or UK you can get a significant discount although you may have to wait for a few weeks. I ordered my meds from Shraft. They ship it basically right when you need it.
Also, you can ask around if someone has leftover meds that they did not use. For example, after my ivf I had retrieval a few days early and have some Gonal-F and Menopur left.
I hope this helps!
Fertility medications are very expensive. My insurance did not cover any meds at first and my Doctors office would give me meds that the drug reps would bring in so ask them first, but I use a mail order pharmacy called Shraft and you can join for $12 a year and the meds are a little cheaper. Try Shraft.com (they are a walgreens pharmacy.) hope this helps.
I know nothing about follistim or any other injectibles. But I do get an hcg shot every month, and my pharmacy offers a generic form of ovidriel that I pay 30 for. That is not much difference in the grand scheme of things. But wanted to let you know.
