If I were you, I will start tracking ovulation, start taking pre-natal tablets, and I may also visit the doctor for the basic checkup related to all hormonal levels, to be sure of tubes without any blocks and etc,

I have had 3 babies since turning 40, I would give yourself a couple of months or 3 concentrating on your egg health, start by taking maca, royal jelly, vital greens or spirulina, cutting out alcohol, caffine and smoking and introducing a heap of fruit and vegs and swapping highly processed food for whole grains, go organic if you can, or at least do organic dairy, and have acupuncture done as well, if your interested in trying naturally before going to a fertility specialist take a look at this site for more helpful info www.natural-fertility-info.  com (spaced out so it doesnt get xxx out) also dhea can help as well, good luck

At age 39, my OB told me to "run, don't walk" to an RE after we could not conceive our 2nd child after 5 months.  If you've been trying for a bit without luck, I would recommend getting some tests done to see where your hormone levels are (ie FSH, AMH), as well as your partner getting sperm analysis done, to see if you have any issues.  Unfortunately, the prob. drops significantly when you hit 40, even with IVF.  I also hear acupuncture has helped many women.  Good luck!
