Thank you heather for your support,  i think it was probably too late when they did icsi, im assuming the dr thought they will fetilize because of quality and our age im 34 and dh is 35, he wants to wait till jan 14 to do the blood tests as ive still got the medication in my system, hope 2014 is the year for me.

To tell you the truth, Sajkal, I have never heard of NONE fertilizing using ICSI.  Your doctor sounds like he's really good, so I believe you should trust his judgement when he says he is going to find out why.

You are producing a good amount of eggs and apparently your husband is producing quality sperm, so don't lose hope.  Maybe the doctor already started doing some testing on your eggs and is analyzing your husband's sperm too.  He'll come up with an answer.

Good luck to you, sweetheart,  I'm very sorry that this cycle didn't work out.  Keep up the hope.  It's going to happen for you.  You'll see.  Many blessings to you.

Been to see the dr today, he said the 9 eggs were of good quality and so was the sperm, he said first they waited for them to fertilize when they didnt fertilize they injected the sperm into the egg (icsi). But they still not fertilizd, the dr wants to do further blood test to see why this happened, i think he said he will check thyroid, vitamin c or d and other tests to establish what can be done, has this happened to any1 else and what did their dr do?

I'm sorry this round didn't work. Definitely ask about ICSI. We didn't have an option; it was automatic, and honestly, I wasn't even sure I fully understood at the time, but it worked. And I've read high success rates with ICSI.

Good luck to you!

I don't know.  During my IVF, there was no reason to think from testing on me or the donor sperm I used that I'd need ICSI, but it was discussed, kinda like a contingency plan.  So after waiting some time to allow for spontaneous fertilization, when it didn't happen they resorted to ICSI.  Even if it can' be done for this cycle, it could help to learn about it for next time.

I'm sure you did everything right and there is no blame.  I hope your clinic gives you good advice and support from here, let us know how you get along.

Do you have access to, or did they attempt, ICSI?  I had only 3 eggs from my retrieval (I have diminished ovarian reserve).  None fertilized on their own, but all 3 did with ICSI.

Hopefully, the fact that you produced so many eggs means that you'll be a good candidate for another try!

It's such a difficult process, remember to be kind to yourself and to hang in there.
