HELP WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT GETTING PREGNANT AFTER MISCARRIAGE WITH PCOS

Hi,  I have PCos. I was put on three rounds of clomid. the first two were 50mg and the second was 100mg. I was told i might not have a chance of becoming pregnant. well, 4 weeks ago i found out, i was! My husband and i were over joyed as this was our first! I have wanted this sooo long! I even had a baby room painted and all , like charolette in Sex and The City.  :)  I was just to hopefull and excited! then it came. My first blood test my levels were 14, i was told it might just be really early and was ordered to have another one  2 days later, on wed. I got a call thursday, things werent looking good he said, my levels went down to 12, and i would probablly miscarry and start to bleed within the next week or so. I did started to bleed 2 hours after his phone call. Our world was broken. I would have been 4 or 5 weeks. I am still a little devastated! I did every thing right. Take the progesterone , then the clomid day 5-9 i even used the ov watch. then this happened. well , were upset, but were not giving up yet! He said since i did it naturally that it was ok, to go ahead and start trying right away. well almost 3 weeks later no sign of ovuation or period. I had only bled for 5 days, and 2 days after that took a digital pregnancy test and said i wasn't pregnant.

I am wondering if since my levels were so low, and are now gone, do you think it's ok to go ahead and ask to start taking the progesterone again to have a period? then begin the process of the clomid to ovulate?

He said i could in 4 weeks, but for my sanity i would like it as soon as possible. I have been taking ovulation (digital) tests and nothing since the m/c.NOTHING!
I am afraid that since i never had periods before the progesterone tablets and clomid, that i wont on my own cuz the levels were sooo low.

Any advice? Awnser questions please!? and some positive stories on how you got pregnant after and it was a lasting pregnancy! Thanks!

HI!
I'm so sorry that things turned out the way they did this time!  But I always tell my patients to think of it as a system test--you CAN get pregnant!

Ask your doctor about Metformin and Femara too--I LOVE that combination of medications for PCOS. Also, if you move your clomid/femara up to cycle day 3-7 it will give you a nice "classic" 28 day cycle.

You are probably right that you may not have a period on your own.  I don't see why you couldn't take progesterone again since your levels were so low.  The only thing is, there may not be a period, because there may not have been time for the lining to build up enough.

One other bit of info--some studies have shown that Metformin reduces miscarriage risk in PCOS patients, so DEFINITELY ask your MD about those other meds!

IT WILL HAPPEN FOR YOU!
Good luck!
