Miscarriage with PCOS

Hi..i am prasanthi. i am diagnosed with PCOS last year. I turned 26 this month. Height 5'4". weight 60kgs. i started taking clomid from january this year. took 50 mg for two cycles, 100mg for two cycles. on third cycle of 100mg, i conceived. i was tested for HCG. it was 108 on 37th day of cycle after which i got positive on my hpt. on 39th day it was 244.hence doctor confirmed that HCG levels are good. i was on progesterone till 9 weeks. On 48th day of the cycle i went in  for scan. it measured less than 5 weeks. Again went in after 2 weeks (9 week pregnant). Fetal pole seen measuring 6 weeks. but no heartbeat. Yolk sac 4.5mm(abnormally increased). hence doctor said it is missed abortion and gave me tablets for abortion. i am almost 15 days past my abortion.

My doubt is, i heard that generally after delivery, PCOS reduces. is it the same case with Miscarriage? is there any chance for me to have regular periods from now on as i want to avoid clomid? In case of either regular/irregular periods how much time do you think it will take for me to get healthy pregnancy? How can i assure that i can avoid any miscarriages in future and is it that my miscarriage is due to PCOS?
And i am hearing a lot about Metformin. in which case do they prescribe metformin as my fasting sugar levels are normal though not tested for insulin resistance.

i have one more doubt...how long did it take for you to get pregnant first time(before miscarriages)? do you ovulate regularly every month..? did you take any medication like clomid before?

Thank you so much Jessejaaye for your reply...but i have checked with my doctor casually sometime back before i conceived. She said that it is not required for me. i will take second opinion from someone else..Congrats to you and all the best..take care.

I have PCOS and also had 2 missed miscarriages, the doc put me on  metformin and I conceived the first cycle on it, and I am currently entering my 5th month on pregnancy and so far everything is going fine, I was not tested for insulin resistance as well he just prescribed it for me, he took me off it at 12 weeks and so far I've made it to 20 weeks, you can talk to your doctor about it you have to start taking it while trying to conceive though not after you conceive...good luck
