So I have pcos and my doctor has put me on 1500mg of metformin a day. I've been on it aince she diagnosed me with pcos on nov 17th and had to take 10 days worth of provera to make my period start (I was 46 days late). I finally had my period Dec 4th and go for blood work dec 24th to see if I ovulated. No one i kno has taken metformin. Does it work?

I started metformin on August 25th  with 1000 MG daily and was increased to 1500 one month later.it did make my period more regular and showed signs of ovulation  then I had postive pregnacy nocember 24th approx 4-6 weeks but had m/c on 27th:(. But I say metformin did help me ovulate seeing as my husband and I had been trying to conceive since Nov of last year. Hope this helps. I'm staying on metformin and trying again

I've been on metformin for about a month now...and it seems to have started my period for me (I was on a 60+day cycle).  I'm hoping it helps me ovulate with the change in cycle but I guess time will tell!  Good luck!
