1st attempt IVF questions..

Hello and THANK YOU to all of you who have posted questions and answers on this forum, as I consult it often with every little question.
I have a few questions for all of you IVF pros out there on what to expect from this point on, since this was my first attempt. I live in Alaska and we are VERY limited (have to drive 3 hours to a Doctor in small town Soldotna who's not very forthcoming with answers, explanations or warm fuzzies) to get IVF done.
I have pretty major endometriosis and tried clomid cycles and IUIs to no avail in the past.
I did a lupron protocol which ended up being about 17 days 10ml until day 1 when I then got my ultrasound. I had small cysts which they weren't sure if they were considered remnant from last cycle or early follicular.. they had me start 150follistem and drop my lupron to 5ml on day 3. Day 11 is when my follicle size was enough to do HCG, 36 hours later at 10:30pm this past Monday we did retrieval with no sedation just Valium and Demerol but it wasn't bad at all. They retrieved 12 eggs and about 48 hours later I found out that 7 took but already weren't looking hot. Doctor called the next day and had us drive down that afternoon (Thursday) so it ended up being about a 2.5-3 day transfer. By the time we got there we were at 4. Doctor said just one egg looked even okay with fragmenting, 2 had major, major fragmenting and 1 had already lost it's zona shell. He didn't feel good about the any of them at all so he put all 4 back in.
Here is where my questions begin:
-The day after my retrieval I felt fine but since then have felt heavy, bloated and had pretty bad ovary pain. When I told the Dr. he just said "Oh must be ovary swelling" and left it at that. Is this okay? Normal?
-Today is the day after my transfer and I am spotting.. is this normal (I'm taking 200 progesterone sup 2x a day)??
-Has anyone heard of a day 3 missing zona? All the cells were clustered and divided more perfectly than any of the other embryos but that distinctive circle outside was missing. What does this mean?
-Now that he put 4 damaged embryos in mean does this mean I could have like 4 babies possibly? I'll be happy with whatever I get but am nervous about the health of myself and my babies for sure. Anyone have a 4 embryo transfer success story they can share too?
-Last, when can I start using HPTs?? The Dr is saying 2 weeks until blood but even with IUIs my NP had me in at day 12 or 13? Why 2 weeks?
THANK YOU THANK YOU and I hope these questions help others too! Amber

Oh Thank you ladies for making me feel better! My test is on March 15th. My NP had me go get an ultrasound for OHSS but we found that my ovaries are just VERY swollen with fluid but it's not in my abdomen so it's okay. There were a few follicular cysts left and one was huge.. do Drs sometimes leave some of the cysts and not drain eggs? It sort of seemed that way. Kahlua.. good luck with your transfer! I'll keep you all posted!
Also.. does anyone know why a zona shell would completely fall off of an embryo? I can't seem to find anything online about this... TY

Hey sweet heart my heart feels for you ! But I have a friend that had 1 perfect grade 1  emmbie and 2 very fragmented emmbies put back on a 3 day transfer and she now has triplets that are all healthy and 16 months old so any thing is posible !! as fas as HPT if you take it to early you might get a false possitive because the HPT might read the triger shot still and if you test to early you can get a fauls negative I think you shound be okay to test about 8 or 9 day after transfer with one of those HPT that can tell you 5 days before your missed AF ! Good luck you are in my prayers !!

I can't believe they did retreival with No sedation. Retreival requirea anesthesia always..... I don't get it. The transfer may required optional valium which I never take. Im not surprise you were sore after retreival. Im sorry.
The "demaged" embryos could give you four babies but I really doubt it. When embryor fragment too much they are unlikely to implant. I just had a 4 embryo transfer this morning.... one of them is really good but the other 3 have 4-3 cells although fragmentation is not bad. You just never know!!!! This whole thing is very confussing and only God can tell......

Try to rest and get busy. Whatever that will happen will happen and there is really very little you can do about it.
I will know if this IVF worked on March 17th St Patrick's day!!! Hopefully a lucky day for me. When is your beta test?
Two weeks before pregnancy test is set because the hgh shot stays in your system for at least 10 days and that is the same hormone that HPT detect so you can have a false positive result... so wait on HPT until the day before the beta.
