Yes, the dr said you're done - thats why :-(. Basically she explained how poor ovarian reserves lead to extra active pituitary which pushes the gas pedal ( more notoriously known as dear FSH) to act and get some eggs which leads to high E2 etc etc. HIgh E2 suppreses FSH, thats what the first cycle showed, and in the second E2 was lower and thats why the FSH was let loose. If E2 was low, then God knows how much this FSH would have read ..more than 100 maybe ( I'm calculating ). So bottomline - its a symtom of POF - pre mature ovarian failure. May be - may be not - the next cycle will confirm this.
Wow, did the dr say why it would jump so much in only one cycle? It is just so shocking.....
Thanks for the reply ladies. The test were two consecutive cycles, although the second cycle came after 15 days. I usually have irregular cycles which can be along as 3 months to 22 days. In first one the E2 came back abnormal and in second the FSH was the dark character. The doctor is a certified RE ( as reported). Yes, I'm going for another test in the next cycle, but the doctor basically told me that this could be the dead end for me for a self constructed off-spring :-(
I don't understand how you can get two different results. There should be something wrong with the results. You should test your FSH one more time. I really dont know if there is no hope or not.. But I would definitely not give up hope.
How far apart were the tests? That is really a big jump. Is the dr a specialist or an ob/gyn?
