Hi I know we are in the same town and I was wondering if you would'nt mind recommending your accupuncturist, mine is very far away, although she is good, I would really like one close by, any recommendations.
Hi. I was wondering how you were doing. I have being seeing a fertility acupuncturist since our first cycle failed in May. It is very relaxing. Also, I no longer have AF cramps...none! She is going to be there to do a before and after treatment for my ET on 9/1. Have you had yours do the ear points? Do the ear points, they are very relaxing.
I live on Long island too. My friend just got pregnant after starting acupuncture...she has PCOS and was on Clomid...now she's 11 weeks preg. She's been trying to get me to do it...it's my dh's friend...soooo he's not crazy about me seeing him...I think maybe I should.
Who are you using on Long Island?
Sorry, I should have spelled it out. ART is short for Assisted Reproductive Treatment.
I would recommend asking the following questions:
Are you specialize in acupuncture associated with ART?
Do you offer nutritional instruction? This is important because if you have any thyroid issues or high/low blood pressure, eating the proper foods are vitual while you are trying to conceive. I did not know that certain foods (like even salad) can affect your success rates if you have any of the above mentioned conditions. It is something in how your body process the food....
What is your COMPLETE plan (beginning to end) for me in conjunction with next IVF cycle? The reason I would ask this question is because, during different parts of the IVF cycle, the acupunturist will want to open and focus on certain qi. E.i., during the stimulation part of IVF, they focus heavily on circulating flow to the abdominal region for the ovaries and uterus. Or at least, this is what they did for me. One important session was right after I had the embryo transfer, my acupuncturist insisted that I needed a treatment right after. She said this one treatment was as important as all the prior treatments. I assume this was the case because of the implantation factor.
Finally, I would recommend a very high end pre-natal vitamin. The one that I take is made by Metagenics. They are expensive - I think it costs about $70 for a month supply, but I found them to be of excellent quality. I got that price from my acupunturist, so, I am sure there was a mark-up.
The part of this process that I truly found most helpful was the breathing exercises. Breathing through your belly, not through your chest. This helps to relieve all the stress which goes along with trying to conceive and managing your already busy life. The proper breathing increases blood flow throughout your entire body and keeps your qi open. I would recommend asking if they have any yoga and breathing DVD's which you can purchase. These DVD's should be geared towards women TTC. If they don't, I help you get the one that use.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post and I will answer them the best that I can. But, I hope this helps you out in the meantime.
This man is treating my friend for a brain tumor and we can really see the improvement. The doctors and the medication didn't help her and he actually is taking the pain away from her. I don't know how familiar he is with the infertility treatment I am going to ask him all these questions you mentioned. He said that he does acupunture for fertility problems so I will see on Saturday. Beside his big titles ;-) profesor of this and that ;-))), his carries his practice from his father.
